Camas, WA – Tidland Corporation, a leader in the design and engineering of slitting and winding products for the web handling industry, announces the e-Knifeholder; the industry’s first all-electronic knifeholder, eliminating guesswork in knifeholder setup and increasing blade life, slitting accuracy and efficiency.
The e-Knifeholder can self-calibrate to optimize critical blade geometry during setup, blade overlap and side-force. By ensuring the proper adjustments during setup, blade wear is reduced and changes are required less often, translating to less downtime and reduced operating costs. Consistent slit quality is ensured as side-force and blade overlap are maintained through multiple shifts, making blade life easy to track and reducing the time and frequency of maintenance.
Settings are entered via an easy-to-use interface, providing remote control of the knifeholders to reduce hands-on time during the setup and run process. The
e-Knifeholder also reduces the amount of training needed for an operator to be able to setup knives properly and empowers the operator to eliminate inconsistencies in set-up across multiple knifeholders.
