Director of Supply Chain

Location:   Oklahoma City, OK

Maxcess International is seeking a Director of Supply Chain to provide leadership to its operating companies and champion the development of 'best practice' standards to assure that Maxcess International and its subsidiary companies continue to set itself apart as a world leader in global economy.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop intergrated processes among functional groups; i.e., manufacturing, R & D, engineering, quality, customer service and outside vendors with regard to forecasting and procurement at three locations.
  • Participate in the new product development process by providing leadership for all procurement related plans, processes and metrics.
  • Stay abreast of economic conditions and market forces impacting major commodities.
  • Implement supplier development and improvement processes.
  • Oversight and improvement of inventory turns.
  • Develop continuous improvement programs and lean initiatives that increase efficiency, reduce costs and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Evaluation, oversight and implementation of supplier programs related to vendor kanbans, vendor managed inventory (VMI) and consignment.
  • Developing, directing, leading and managing supply chain personnel.
  • Providing overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of supply chain department.
  • Analyzing and evaluating supply chain systems to assure accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities for developing purchasing programs that reinforce the company's competitive advantage.
  • Establish performance metrics and benchmarketing standards to assure effectiveness of supply chain programs and initiatives.

Ideal Candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • BS/BA degree in discipline related to purchasing; graduate degree preferred.
  • APICS and ISM certifications strongly preferred (CPIM, C.P.M. or CPSM).
  • A minimum of five years experience in the management of global sourcing and procurement activities and a minimum of ten years of broad-based experience including operations, materials managment and sourcing with international exposure.
  • Demonstrated excellence in leadership, communication and negotiation. Must be effective in developing strong relationships and influencing others to achieve desired results.
  • Extensive experience in the execution of cost reduction initiatives, supplier lead time reduction and supplier quality development programs.
  • A proven ability to assess situations using statistical and qualitative analysis and make recommendations and/or decisions to meet business needs.
  • Proven understanding and application of planning and forecasting systems (MRP/DRP/ERP/CRM).
  • Proven ability to apply integrated supply chain and logistic concepts.
  • Proven ability to develop, lead, direct and motivate supply chain personnel.
  • Prior experience with implementing planning and forecasting systems (a plus).
  • Excellent analytical ability.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Excel and MS Access; AS 400 preferred.
  • Excellent team-building and project management skills.
