New current-regulated units allow more consistent control with Magnetic Particle Clutches and Brakes

Fenton, MO. - MAGPOWR, a leader in web tension and torque control, introduces a new option in current-regulated power supply. The advanced design features of the PS-24 and PS-90 power supply units provide precision control in unwind, rewind or intermediate tension control applications.

Both the PS-24 (24 vdc) and the PS-90 (90 vdc) provide current-regulated power output in tension control applications. The reverse current feature minimizes drag torque, allowing for use of the full torque range of Magnetic Particle Clutches and Brakes. These products can be used alone as a manual control or with automatic tension controls to maintain tension throughout the entire roll build.Operators have the flexibility to choose from several current ranges to control any size clutch or brake with optimum resolution. Torque is easily adjusted using a remotely mounted potentiometer or through input from a PLC or other automatic control device.
