Fenton, MO, January 31, 2002 - MAGPOWR, an industry leader in web tension products and services, announces the immediate availability of DFC-A & DFC-90 Dancer or Follower Arm Controls for magnetic particle or pneumatic clutches, brakes and motor drives.
DFC-A & DFC-90 are two new tension control products that can be used in dancer or follower arm tension control applications. In dancer control applications, the DFC-A and DFC-90 are closed loop dancer controls. An advanced control algorithm provides optimum control and ease of use.
In follower arm applications, the DFC-A and DFC-90 control web tension by compensating for measured changes in the roll diameter. An additional stop multiplier provides additional stopping torque to help stop large unwind rolls.
The DFC-A is available for the control of pneumatic brakes, clutches, or motor drives. The DFC-A has a current regulated output of 3.6 to 90 vdc, and is adjustable in four current ranges: 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 and 1 amp. The DFC-90 controls magnetic particle clutches or brakes. Output ranges from 0 to 10 vdcm, with 1 madc maximum or (switch selectable) 4 to 20 madc, 400 ohm maximum.
Both designs feature an enhanced dancer algorithm and tuning method for superior control performance. Other features include two operating modes, non-interactive core and full roll adjustments, DIN rail mounting, and compact enclosures that require minimal space.
Setup adjustments are made using easily accessible potentiometers. All adjustment settings are intuitive and clearly marked for ease of use. DFC-A and DFC-90 Dancer/Follower Arm Controls meet all CE and UL requirements for safety and electrical noise immunity.
