RotoMetrics held a very successful second biennial open house event September 23-25 at its facility in Walsall, UK. They brought together the European industry community for three days under the theme ‘Evolution of Print’. With 318 registered visitors and 26 partners supporting, the event grew by an impressive 50% since it was first held in 2012. Neil Lilly, UK & Eire customer services director, spent six months organizing the open house, which brought in visitors not only from the UK, but as far away as Romania, Spain and Poland.

The three day event included a number of presentations from RotoMetrics and supporting partners, covering a wide range of topics including how labelling technology can offer security against counterfeiting, how digital print can help increase speed-to-market, trend towards automation in plate mounting machinery; the advantages of proofing in an extended gamut workflow, and the evolution of ink formulation. The event also provided customers and suppliers alike the opportunity to tour the RotoMetrics plant, where both flexible and solid dies are manufactured for the European region.

Exhibiting industry suppliers overwhelming expressed their positive reactions towards the event’s outreach. ‘This is a great opportunity to support the partnership we have with RotoMetrics, to see our customers and to bring new ideas to the industry as well as hear what unique challenges and changes our customers are facing,’ said Jenny Whittle, commercial manager Label Traxx.

Plans are already underway for the next UK Open Event to be held sometime in 2016.
