Componex WINertia™ Self-Adjusting Bearings
Benefits of Componex WINertia™ Self-Adjusting Bearings:
- WINertia Self-adjusting Bearings are used in a matched set. One bearing locks the roller to the shaft, while the other bearing allows the roller to float linearly.
- Bearings align radially and linearly to protect against deflection, misalignment, and thermal expansion.
- The unique design handles up to 2° of misalignment
- ER style bearing allows for pin-compatible replacements
- Patented Pivoting Bearing System US8770849 B2
Componex WINertia™ Self-Adjusting Bearings Overview
Self-aligning bearing technology is proven with over a century of commercial use. We’ve applied the basic principles to the WINertiaTM Self-Adjusting Bearing and added features specifically designed for optimal idler roll performance. The success of the WINertia Self-Adjusting Bearings in the field has made this the Componex bearing of choice for optimal performance. The new design makes it virtually impossible to side-load these bearings. No side load means no friction buildup to inhibit the bearing from spinning freely. Used in conjunction with our exclusive WINlock Bore, the bearing is locked in place and shielded from contamination.
Engineered Design & Materials for Reliability & Performance
WINertia bearings are precision-engineered using advanced materials and features to maximize performance and durability.
- Vacuum-degassed AISI 52100 alloy steel for strength and fatigue resistance
- Fiberglass-reinforced nylon cages
- External shields and non-contact seals to protect against contaminants
- Synthetic low-viscosity lubricant for smooth, efficient rotation
- Superfinished raceways for quiet and smooth operation
Performance Benefits:
- Bearings align linearly and radially to protect against thermal expansion, misalignment, and deflection
- Eliminates thrust loads on bearings to ensure free spin and avoid premature failure
- Up to 35% lower rotational resistance compared to standard bearings
- Proprietary Synthetic lubricant reduces downtime and maintenance costs
- WINlock bore prevents the bearings from walking and forms an additional shield against contaminants
Key Features:
WINertia idlers can be used in all web-handling applications, wherever idlers are currently used.
- High-speed converting and web-handling lines
- Flexible packaging and film production
- Printing and laminating processes
- Applications where long-lasting, low-maintenance idlers are essential
WINlock Bore Designs:
WINertia Rollers are designed to integrate seamlessly into all web-handling applications. Multiple bore configurations are available to ensure a pin compatible replacement taking clearance issues and performance into account.
- WINlock Bore: Locks in the bearing, locks out dirt.
- WINlock Recessed Bore: Space-saving recessed bearing with access holes drilled on roll face
- WINlock Ring Clip Bore: Bore for single-wall extrusions to provide a locking mechanism for bearing
