FeatherLight™ Carbon Fiber Composite Live Shaft Idler Rolls are engineered for demanding environments where traditional metal rolls can’t keep up. These rolls feature a carbon fiber/epoxy composite shell that’s one-third the weight of aluminum yet offers 1.2x the load-bearing capacity. The result? Unlike dead shaft rolls, live shaft idlers are driven by external bearings at both ends. FeatherLight™ rolls maximize the benefit of this setup with unmatched low inertia, allowing you to maintain control even at elevated line speeds.

FeatherLight™ Idlers are built with a lightweight carbon fiber shell, precision-machined aluminum headers, and steel stub shafts. Each idler is dynamically balanced and held to tight straightness tolerances, helping to minimize flutter, vibration, and misalignment—even at line speeds up to 3,000 FPM.
